Blockupy’s call was turned to a meeting of the “lazy Greeks”, the “wasteful Spanish”, the “irresponsible Irish”, the “counterproductive Italians” and all those who have been blamed as responsible for the outbreak of the crisis by those, who today upset and guarded by thousands of policemen and barbed wires, were posing inside the new ECB building worth 1.3 billion Euros.
Today the peoples of the North met those of the South, in an action of international solidarity which broke the stereotypes that many nationalistic narratives have tried to build.
Dignity and solidarity know no boundaries and origins. The fight for a different Europe is not a competition among nations. It is, as the placards stated today, a struggle of “Class against Class”.
