We say No to Flexicurity. We demand life and work with dignity
The neoliberal policies of austerity and interlnal devaluation, memorandums and restructing have as first aim the youth. “Jobless growth” is their plan.
Youth unemployment at the E.U. countries overran the 25%, while in cases like Greece and Spain that percentage soars over 50%. Most of 5.7 million young men and women are aunemployed acoording to the official data.
The conservative European goverments remain faithfull to the neoliberal doctrine which creates orders of unemployed. The answer proposed by the dominant elites, which is considered socialdemocrats as “progressive”, is the “youth guarantees programme”. Young people wont be considered as employees but “benefited”, ocuupied at short term programms, whether at flexicurity or probation for 300-400 euros, without rights and insurance. Flexicurity and precariousity beceomas the new form of employment for youth across Europe.
We can live in other way. The real answer to unemployment is resistance to neoliberalism and austerity applied by conservatives and socialdemocrats in common all over Europe. The radical left forces, young men and women of Europe due to lead the common struggle for the upset. We fight for stable work, decent wages, insurance, social and working rights. We say no to flexicurity. We will not be expendable stuff for the capital forces.
We stand up against fascism
Austerity and repression, foster the extreme right forces which have increased both in election results and movements power. The anticommunist laws applied at Poland, Hungary and Baltik, as well as the raise of neonazi ideology political influence at many countries, as Greece with the phenomeno of Golden Dawn, are significant examples. The extreme right wing raise can be also tracked at France with Lepen’s National Front. Recent years the extreme right and fascism have appear to adopt violent movement methodology in countries that do not belong at E.U. such as Ukraine that the neonazi parties of Svoboda and Pravi Sector own two ministries at the new de facto government with the support of Nato countries and the majority of the E.U.’s ones.
Austerity, repression, racism which extent in Europe day by day necessitate the fight of peoples and radical left for a Europe of solidarity and peace, for real democracy, for the socialism of the 21st century.
Public schools and free education. Not universities of markets.
For many years now, there has been a visible effort of rescheduling of the educational systems all around Europe, with various instructions and funds. The constitution of Lisboa, Sorbonne and Bologna shared a common, major vision (which has been accomplished somehow), the creation of a united and unified educational system, which offers expendable diplomas and lifelong vocational training. But this pack, of course, addresses a uniformed market. Competitiveness, mobility, accountability and entrepreneurship have an institutional thesis and role to the identity of education. The ever growing business interference and crowding out of government involvement, are catalytically shaping education systems, whose main function is to advance legalization of flexible working relationships and the observed precarity.
To us, education constitutes a major global right and, furthermore, social asset.
We are strongly opposed to the type of education which splits and defines manual and intellectual works as two completely different concepts. The values we proclaim are (but not to be limited to) the destruction of class barriers, the elimination of all kinds of discrimination and racism, and the provision of free public quality education
Against the “Fortress Europe”
The immigration policy E.U, under the Dublin 2 and 3 convension, the allowance to the practice of forward and prevention in the sea borders, concentration camps, the walls, the mins and FRONTEX in the borders have change the entrances of Europe to a cemetery. Even to refugees from Syria, victims of a war supported supported from the leaderships of E.U in collaboration with NATO. Typical example is the Mediterranean sea, wear everyday tens hundrends of refugees from Syria Afghanistan and Africa drawn in the sea, many times with the responsibility of sea forces. Lampedusa in Italy and Farmakonisi in Greece, are the more recent but not the last tragedies.
We are fighting for a Europe which will not murder. The application of the international rules for the refugees. Safe and legal entrance and haven(asylum). Respect to the human rights of refugees and immigrants. Abolition of Dublin 3 and all the treaties that are changing Europe in to purgatory for refugees and immigrants.
We own our lives
On the target of EU governments are still the democratic rights that were conquered through the struggles of workers and youth. The youths of EL fight against politics that create discriminations based on sexual characteristics, sexual orientation or gender. A typical example is the work oppression of women, through higher unemployment rates in comparison with men. We fight against the homophobic logic that prohibits same-sex couples to be legally regulated by the conclusion of civil partnerships. We condemn the Spanish government for banning abortions, which is against of self-determination of the body. We oppose to the burgeoning suppression and strengthening of security forces, the criminalization of activists and movements, the closing of seld-managed spaces. We aim and fight for a Europe that fits everyone, that does not marginalize minority groups and puts our needs over profits.
Culture for the peple not as a privillege
A Phenomenon that intensifies is the more and more shrinked funds for culture, at the adopted budgets of recent decades. It is now obvious that capitalism leads people to an even more difficult access of youth to cultural events. We ask increasing funds for culture in order to exist theaters, cinemas and cultural spots in every city and neighborhood. We demand institutional facilitation of self-managed spaces that produce culture and provide entertainment, under non-commercialized terms. We fight for an emancipated and assertive art movement, because culture to us is a necessary good and equal access to all cannot be questioned.
